My Story

Hi there! My name is Laurie and I’m the owner of LaurieMarieGraphics here in Yardley, Pennsylvania. I really appreciate your visit and I’m so excited to share my life story, experiences, goals, and love for art and design with you!

I started this business as a side job while I was working full time as an in-house Graphic Designer in New Jersey. As I worked 9-5 I came to realize that there was not enough time in the day to really devote myself to my business. Clients began to increase and I continued to work after I came home from work and I worked on the weekends to boot! It was exhausting (but the good kind of exhausting). With a lot of thought and A LOT of prayer I knew what I would do. “I’m going to quit my job and concentrate on LMG!” But it wasn’t that easy… “what about the bills and what if I don’t have enough work??”  Despite my questions, I knew that this was the right thing to do (and I have an amazing husband who supports me 100%) so I gave my two weeks and hoped for the best! In no time at all (thanks to my best friend Dara), I got a major client in need of a 100 page catalog! It was then that my mind was at ease and I knew I did the right thing. The projects continued to be steady and I praise God everyday for that! I’m truly doing what I love and I couldn’t be happier.

As for my past…I’ve always been artistic and creative. As a child, my Christmas presents were always sketch books, calligraphy sets, clay, markers, you get it. Well actually, who am I kidding, those are still the types of presents I get! Some girls get jewelry from their husbands and my husband comes home with easels, portable hard drives, canvases, and pencils! But anyway, I grew up in Jersey and lived there until I was 28 (except when I moved to Philly for college, where I studied Graphic Design.) After I graduated I met the love of my life, got married, and started this business.

I’ve been a professional graphic designer for 6 years and throughout this time I’ve become very passionate for my career. I look for a challenge in all I design and I always work diligently and tediously to accomplish my best work. I’m constantly looking for a challenge and I design each piece of artwork as it were being created for my own use. I am so excited to continue to grow in this profession and I’m looking forward to all of the relationships that will be made with my clients and fellow designers.
Thanks again for visiting. I’m looking forward to working with you!
